Pets at Home ‘Pedal for Paws’
We have received £400 by the ‘Pedal for Paws Summer Fundraiser’. We are extremely thankful to everyone who donated to the appeal and to Pets at Home for organising the fundraiser.
Cats Whiskers Rescue is run by volunteers and is funded entirely by donations. Cats and kittens have come into our care throughout lockdown, and it is only through the wonderful support of our volunteers and donors that we have been able to continue. We have been unable to have our own fundraisers during this difficult time, so we are extremely grateful for all help that has been offered to us.

Transporters needed
Could you help us transport cats to the vet or their new homes? We urgently require drivers who can give their time to this essential part of our work.
Some of our fosterers are unable to drive, so we need drivers who can carry out this task. Transporters get to meet our lovely cats and our fabulous fosterers. Transporting is on an as-when-needed basis.
We also need volunteers who could trap stray and feral cats. Full training is given – it’s not complicated at all. Put food in trap, sit and wait. Patience is the main requirement ( and a thermos of tea. )

Fosterers needed
We urgently need fosterers to care for cats and kittens coming into our care. Could you help?
We need lovely people – just like you – to care for cats before they find their forever homes. We provide food, litter, equipment and cover authorised vet bills. You provide the cuddles!
Our fosterers care for cats of all ages and needs. Sometimes the cat will be with a fosterer for only a few days, whilst others might need a temporary home for several weeks. Fosterers are supported by experienced volunteers offering help and advice – and lots of kittie photos!

WARNING: DRY CAT FOOD RECALL
The Food Standards Agency has issued a warning regarding cat food products. There may be a link between certain dry cat food products and cases of pancytopenia, a potentially lethal illness.
Fold Hill Foods, which produces cat food for Applaws, Sainsbury’s and Pets at Home ( AVA brand), is recalling products because of safety concerns. Wilko’s is also recalling dry cat food.

Missy update
Our sponsor cat, Missy, has found a loving forever home. Cats Whiskers will continue to fund her medical costs.
Sponsorship means that cats who would otherwise be unadoptable can go on to live fulfilling lives with families who love them. Could you help Missy and cats like her?
Trumpet
Meet Trumpet, a delightful young cat who came to us as a stray. Shortly after her arrival it became apparent that she was pregnant, so she has spent the last few weeks settling in with her fosterer, awaiting the birth.
Unfortunately, a few days ago Trumpet started to bleed heavily. She was rushed to the vets where an emergency Caesarean was performed to save her life.
The babies were born alive but were just too premature. Very sadly, all 5 kittens died shortly after delivery.
The good news is that Trumpet came through the surgery and is now recovering well at home.
As we all know, complex procedures such as these incur heavy costs and vet bills in general are our biggest expense! We are all volunteers at Cats Whiskers Rescue, and we rely totally on donations to take care of cats like Trumpet.

Share the Love Donation from Support Adoption for Pets
As part of Support Adoption for Pets’ continuing support of rescues across the country, Cats Whiskers Rescue has received a donation of £2,000.
As with other rescues around the U.K., Cats Whiskers Rescue has been unable to fundraise as normal. However, the demands on us are as great as ever: cats and kittens still need rescuing; veterinary treatment; and ongoing care with our fosterers.
