Missy update

Our sponsor cat, Missy, has found a loving forever home. Cats Whiskers will continue to fund her medical costs.

Sponsorship means that cats who would otherwise be unadoptable can go on to live fulfilling lives with families who love them. Could you help Missy and cats like her?

Vinnie

Vinnie is a 7 year old long-haired tabby. He is affectionate and likes lots of attention. He loves to sunbathe in the garden.

He will need a family that can give him lots of attention and can groom him. He requires a new home as he is unhappy around young children, so he would only suit an older family. He would prefer to be the solo pet as he does not get on with other cats.

Vinnie is a direct rehome.

Smudge & Max

Smudge and Max are very friendly, loving brothers. They are looking for a new home together.

Smudge and Max are very much loved pets, but their owner very sadly has to re-home them due to an allergy.

The cats adore human company and would like a family that can give them lots of cuddles. Smudge and Max are a devoted pair and like to curl up asleep around each other. They would make excellent companions in any household.

Smudge and Max are 8 years old and neutered. They are direct rehomes. Please contact Cats Whiskers Rescue for more information about Max and Smudge.

Support Adoption for Pets Update

You may have seen on our website and on our social media channels the exciting rebrand of Support Adoption For Pets into ‘The Pets at Home Foundation.’

Since 2006 we have supported rescues across the country with over £24 million through our grant funding and our Charity of the Year partnerships.

Rescue and rehoming will remain at the very heart of our charity, but the great news is we will now also support charities who help people through pets.

If you would like to find out more about the types of organisations that we will be working alongside please visit www.petsathomefoundation.co.uk.

Charity of the Year will remain the same for this year, as we recognise that the last year has been a very difficult one for everyone, not in the least for our rescues across the country and therefore we recognise that this support is vital to your rescues and the work you do. 2022, however, will see some changes to this scheme so watch this space for further information.

I am sure you will all agree that this is an exciting change for our charity and we are dedicated in continuing to help pets and the people who love them.

Ginny

HAPPY NEWS: GINNY HAS BEEN ADOPTED.

Ginny came to us as a pregnant stray. Having successfully given birth 5 months ago, she is now ready to be homed with a loving family.

Ginny is very timid and gentle. She is not yet ready for physical affection, but absolutely loves being played with.  Chasing the feather wand and the laser light is wonderful fun. She also likes to watch wildlife programs on the TV!

Ginny needs a quiet and nurturing environment. She needs a family that understands she needs to go at her own pace. She will need access to a safe garden so that she can hunt and snooze in the sun.

Below you will see a photo of how poorly she was when she arrived. After months of gentle care and attention she has blossomed.

Could you give Ginny a loving forever home?

Daisy

Daisy has been missing from her home in Hailey, Hoddesdon, for four weeks.

She is a three-legged black cat. Her rear leg is missing. She has a timid nature. She is chipped and was last seen wearing a red collar ( which may now be missing.) She is under veterinary care.

If you have any information on Daisy please phone 07889 679198 or contact Cats Whiskers Rescue.

Missy

HAPPY NEWS: MISSY HAS BEEN ADOPTED.

Missy is a very affectionate and gentle 12 year old Ragdoll. She came to us as she was struggling in her previous home due to the presence of young children.
Missy has now really come out of her shell with her fosterer. Missy would like a quiet and calm home in which she can relax and have lots of snuggles. She absolutely loves being brushed, and must be groomed every night to keep her long coat in good condition.

Missy has been diagnosed with a hyperactive thyroid – a very manageable condition –  but she will require medication and a special diet for the rest of her life.
Due to these additional needs, and in order to help with placing Missy in a new forever home, Cats Whiskers Rescue will be covering the ongoing cost of the medication & food.

If you would like to donate to help towards the cost of this commitment, you can do so by using the bank details below. Alternatively, you can click the link to take you through to our PayPal.

If you are interested in adopting Missy, please download an application form and email info@catswhiskersrescue.com. Missy would not be suitable for a home with children, but will thrive in a loving home with a peaceful environment.

Trumpet

Meet Trumpet, a delightful young cat who came to us as a stray. Shortly after her arrival it became apparent that she was pregnant, so she has spent the last few weeks settling in with her fosterer, awaiting the birth.

Unfortunately, a few days ago Trumpet started to bleed heavily. She was rushed to the vets where an emergency Caesarean was performed to save her life.

The babies were born alive but were just too premature. Very sadly, all 5 kittens died shortly after delivery.

The good news is that Trumpet came through the surgery and is now recovering well at home.

As we all know, complex procedures such as these incur heavy costs and vet bills in general are our biggest expense! We are all volunteers at Cats Whiskers Rescue, and we rely totally on donations to take care of cats like Trumpet.

If you would like to donate to help towards the cost of Trumpet’s surgery, you can do so by using the bank details below. Alternatively, you can click the link to take you through to our PayPal.

We are not taking rehoming requests for Trumpet at present as she still needs to recover, but if you are interested in adopting and wish to go onto our waiting list, please download an application form from the link below and email to info@catswhiskersrescue.com

Share the Love Donation from Support Adoption for Pets

As part of Support Adoption for Pets’ continuing support of rescues across the country, Cats Whiskers Rescue has received a donation of £2,000.

As with other rescues around the U.K., Cats Whiskers Rescue has been unable to fundraise as normal. However, the demands on us are as great as ever: cats and kittens still need rescuing; veterinary treatment; and ongoing care with our fosterers.

We are very grateful to Support Adoption for Pets for their donation. We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all our supporters who help us in myriad ways in these difficult times.

Thank you.

Snowy

Snowy, a black female 10yr old cat, has been missing from the Francis Road area of Ware for a few months.

Snowy is chipped and spayed. If you have any information about Snowy, please contact Cats Whiskers Rescue.
